Hello, I’m Magenta and I live on the South Coast of England. Living in Hampshire on the South coast of England,  I feel fortunate as I love this part of the country, with it’s mild temperatures, easy access to the beautiful New Forest and gorgeous sandy beaches.  I’m mostly to be found painting in my home studio, where the coffee is usually on (and my dog, Betsy, takes me out for walks so I get plenty of exercise and inspiration from walking in beautiful places in between painting and designing!) Thanks to Contrado, who recently featured my work on their blog https://www.contrado.co.uk/blog/contrado-artists-6-illustrations-and-exotic-destinations/

Although I’m often working on my own design projects, I’m equally happy to work with Interior Designers, Wedding Planners , Boutiques and dressmakers. Many of the boutiques that use my fabric send me photos and you can see those on the Boutique Gallery here. I will consider requests for bespoke fabric/wallpaper and also art commissions, workload permitting. Making my clients happy makes me happy, so lets talk about possibilities and design solutions.

Married with three children, a dog and  two cats, there is always something to make me smile and inspire me. In a previous life I worked as an Architectural Technician and have an eclectic background of art and design, interior design, product and textile design. Animals, nature and architectural styles (especially art deco) inspire me a lot. I’ve always loved to paint, but after retraining in surface design I found a lot more doors opened!

Magenta Rose Art

Here’s one of my paintings at King John’s House, Romsey in the summer exhibition

Why work under the name Magenta Rose? According to colour psychology, Magenta is the colour of love- and roses just bloom, like I allow my business to bloom and grow, motivated by love.  I confess, it’s not my “real name” but being on the “interwebz” like I am, it’s who I am and the name I answer to. My art is available as wall art, fabric, wallpaper, furniture, gift wrap, phone cases and skins, bed sheets and duvet covers, cushions and throw pillows, shower curtains, clocks, mirrors, coasters, cards, clothing and much more. Follow me on social media to see my latest work. I often post new designs and special offers on Instagram

If you would like to buy original art rather than the prints currently available at my online shops, please email me at magentarose@cobdenstudios.co.uk and I’ll send you photos of my available work, or we can discuss commissions. I may in future add a gallery page for my original art as this website is currently under construction. I will, from the 19th August- 2nd September, be exhibiting at King John’s House, Romsey. You can read all about this wonderful venue and tourist attraction at http://kingjohnshouse.org.uk/

Please pop back soon to see all my new designs!
